Well, the school year is on its way once again. This summer has been much different than my previous two, but it was good in its own way. While I was used to the craziness of working at camp, I was instead able to experience the craziness of vacation with my family, moving into a new house (on a mountain), and taking two online classes. Not to mention that I was in 10 or more states this summer with all of the random traveling I did. Overall, it was a good summer, and I even was able to spend the last week babysitting two really great kids.
Despite the nice summer, I really am ready to go back to school. Mostly, I am ready to see friends again. I have been able to spend a lot of quality time with my family this summer (because I really don't know anyone else in Tennessee,) but I have missed out on hanging out with friends. Early Monday morning I will be heading to my house in Cedarville, where my friend Sarah and I will be moving in. We have had a great summer of writing letters back and forth, and it will be great to see her again!
This year, however, holds a lot; it is a little intimidating for me to think about all that is going to happen, as well as all of the decisions I need to make. This semester I am taking 19 credits and living off campus. The former I have done before, the latter may pose some new challenges (such as making my own meals everyday). Over Christmas break, as I mentioned in a previous post, I will be traveling to Brasil for a few weeks with Nick and his family. Soon after I return, I will be packing up and heading to Niamey, Niger in western Africa for my student teaching experience. I am scheduled to return late in April, about a week before I graduate on May 4th!
This year will be a whirlwind. I just pray that I will continue to grow throughout this crazy time, and that I trust God with the decisions I will have to make. I want to soak up every moment of this year!
